Denson -- Latest data : After reading confusing reviews saying that this isn’t the latest, I looked USDA incline and found that 2015 was the latest year for them change their tables. And that this is the latest printing of that data. My wife and I had found conflicting info on canning recipes and wanted to know what the Department of agriculture had about it. For instance, there is a recipe for Jalapeño Salsa online that recommends a 15 minute water bath canning for pints and quarts! Best to read this before you follow one line recipes.   • 3.0 out of 5 stars from Mountain Home -- Basic and not a bargain : Having been convinced I needed this for the USDA approved methods for canning I have to say it was no better than my old Ball Blue Book from 1985. Sure, a couple of the methods or time or headspace have been revised but overall I learned nothing new. I imagine all of this info is availanle for free from USDA extension services online.
